However, Animal Well does feature a fast travel system. To unlock fast travel, you must find eight eggs. Eggs are hidden throughout the map in treasure chests, so if you explore well, you should reach this goal. For your information, there are sixty-four eggs in total. Once you find eight eggs, go back to the room to the left of the central hub with the big peacock. There is a giant egg on your map marking it, so you can’t miss it.
If you have eight eggs, the bottom door will open on the left. Go through and pass through the hallway. You’ll enter a room with a treasure chest on a small platform. Jump to it and open it to get the Animal Flute. Use the item right away to awaken the sleeping chinchillas around you and jump up to the top right of the map entrance.
In this room, you’ll see a crow’s head and a small flute-like shrine. Stand in front of that shrine and play the Animal Flute again. This will open the crow’s mouth. Leap into it and you’ll find yourself in a new room in the bottom-left corner of the map. This is your fast travel hub!
All over the well, there are animal heads that correspond to different parts of the map. If you passed these heads, they’ll open. Otherwise, explore more to unlock every fast travel location. Each animal head in the world has the same flute shrine in the same room, so play the Animal Flute if their mouths aren’t open.
How to instantly warp using the fast travel song
That’s a nice shortcut, but can you call Animal Well fast travel if you have to backtrack to those heads? Thankfully, the game has a solution. In the fast travel hub with the six animal heads, you’ll find a ladder. Climb down and enter a room with a fish popping its head out of the water. Jump to the land by the water and see a fish pop out facing different directions.
Realize that this is a song you can play with your Animal Flute based on the fish’s direction sounds. Play Right, Right, Left, Left, Down, Down, Up, Up. Then, your character will warp back to the fast travel hub. This works anywhere, so cut down on backtracking time. Put stamps on your map to remember where each animal head warps you.
Even fast traveling in Animal Well has secrets to uncover. In the second layer of the game, collect all 64 eggs, then find the UV Light to get the other warp song. Return to the house after the credits, go right until you reach the screen with a floating donut, and use the UV Light to reveal arrows and a swirly symbol.
