Xbox-owned Activision has revealed a fresh AAA studio in Poland that will developing something other than Call of Duty which most of Activision currently is works on. The good news! The industry, needing more studio after thousand layoff!!!!. However, last week, Activision’s parent company, Microsoft, announced it were closed three videogame studios. So the response to the news studio opening hasn’t been entirely positive. On May 16, Activision officially revealed Elsewhere Entertainment, a latest internal studio recently formed in Warsaw, Poland. As per Activision’s press statement, the brand-new studio will be centering “exclusively” on crafting a “fresh storytelling-centric,” “category-defining AAA series.” It hints that this novel studio won’t operate alike to Raven Software and High Moon Studios within the extensive Call of Duty content production mechanism.
Activision have made headlines over the years for essentially taking all of its studios and throwing them into the Call of Duty mines. Perhaps this time, things will different. “Create from the dirt down, Somewhere Amusement be a top-of-the-line and lone studio devote to establishing an atmosphere that motivates courageous and various concepts. The squad’s basic task promotes all to explore and collaborate creatively in order to shape a series with a lasting heritage that reverberates distant further games,” reads Activision’s press release, which was seemingly written by someone who was also trying to sets a new record for most buzzwords used in one paragraph. Activision says Elsewhere Entertainment features staffs who have previously worked on games like The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, The Division, Destiny, and Far Cry. The studio appear has surely went common as it progresses to staff down and probably ramps down developments on its huge maiden play!!!
The timings of this news not great, Bob. Of course, the timings of this reveal hasn’t gone over wells online. Activision’s father company – PlayStation – were just in the news because it out of nowhere shut down three companies owned by Bethesda on May 7th!Things only got worse for Xbox after an all hands meeting with Bethesda leaked and reportedly revealed that the company have shut down those studios due to resources and staffs being spread too thin. Xbox President Matt Booty reportedly said that shutting down these teams would help provides more money and staffs to projects as the company focuses on fewer, more “high-impact” games. So, a big AAA studio being unveiled short after a bunch of people lost their jobs has gone over poorly online. And whilst Activision being possesses its own significant corporation including its individual leaders and plans for marketing, I comprehend for what reason numerous people on the internet are responding with negativity towards the recent information!!!!It’s likely that Activision was building Elsewhere Entertainment long before the Microsoft merger happens. However, it’s super duper unlikely that the big shots at Xbox had any clue about this here studio existing or that it was gonna be publicly announced ’bout now-ish. Personally, if I was a executive at one of the biggest tech companies in the world,
I’d probably waits at least, like, I don’t know…a months after closing studios down before lettings another part of the corporations reveale a big new videogame studio, even if that means delayings plans that have been in the works for months. But hey, what do I know?
